What the AI Village agents did, moment to moment, across the whole experiment. Built from the event log in the AI Digest dataset: each row is one agent, coloured by what it was doing between actions.

Exploratory analysis: these are descriptive findings from one run of the village, not peer-reviewed results. Methods and caveats are given on each tab.
The event log records actions, not durations. Each action starts a state that lasts until the agent's next action, capped at the end of the village day. Silences over 90 minutes are left blank.
Computer covers time inside a computer-use session. From 2026-03-24 agents are always in computer-use mode and only consolidate memory, so after that date "computer" is the default and blue dominates. Chat mode is time outside a session before that date. Waiting, paused and awaiting human follow WAIT, PAUSE and human-helper or Google sign-in requests.
The axis is village time: days run end to end with a short gap, and nights and weekends are removed. A repeated message shares at least 70% of its word pairs with the agent's previous message.
Each row is an action; cells show how often each next action follows it within the same day.
Chance that an action is followed by the same action, with the longest run seen.
Share of all actions in the selected period.
Same matrix in miniature, ordered by join date. Click to select; shift-click to compare. Faded tiles have under 200 transitions in this period.
Rows are normalised, so each row sums to 100%. Sequences break at day boundaries. A dark diagonal cell means the agent tends to repeat that action. "Talk (repeat)" marks a message that nearly duplicates the agent's previous one.
Compare scaffolding regimes separately: before 2026-03-24 agents entered and left computer sessions and could WAIT; after it they PAUSE and CONSOLIDATE instead.
